    One of the interesting things about this movie was it's attempt to insert subliminal messages into it.  At that time, "subliminal messaging" was being talked about a lot, with books like "The Clam Plate Orgy" stating that is what drove all advertising, and it was all done on purpose.  So here they took it a step further, and injected 1-2 frame messages throughout the movie, with things like "Fuck", "Laugh", and the like appearing briefly on the screen.

    To see a clear example, watch the fight scene where the main character is jumped by several guys in an alley.  At the end Eddy kicks a guy with a boombox and destroys it.  But freeze the scene and the word "DIE" can be clearly read on the audio tape inside before it shatters.  I am not aware if many people even knew this was in the movie, or if it had any effect.
